There is something about the suffering of God’s people that God uses in the world for his purposes. He does not test us so that we will sin, but rather so that we may be conformed to the image of Christ.
We’re studying the book of Revelation at Kingsland Baptist Church, where I’m the interim pastor. In this video we’ll look at the letter to the church at Smyrna. Smyrna’s church wasn’t criticized, as so many of the other churches in Revelation were. Rather, the Smyrnans were warned that the persecution they were enduring would worsen before it improved.
We sometimes forget this in America, but most Christians in most times and at most places have suffered for their faith. I’ll say more about that in this video, and I’ll also say more about the ways in which suffering and persecution can be blessed and redeemed by God for his glory.
